Caps & Coping

Cast Stone or architectural precast Caps & Copings are a highly refined architectural building “stone”, used as a masonry product to provide architectural trim, ornamentation or functional features on buildings and other structures. Generally we see Pier Caps used by architects and designers as an economic way to help add aesthetic appeal and distinction to the pier or bollard while also providing a practical option for diverting water in a manner that offers protection from the elements. Profiles may include flat, sloped or pyramid designs. Copings can be used as a decorative architectural element as a method to “cap” a parapet wall and are also an appealing option as a “top rail” for balustrade systems or decorative fencing systems. While offering the wall or fence protection from the elements the coping also add to the beauty and offers aesthetic appeal. Many profiles are used including single slope, double slope and crowned with additional architectural features like decorative edges. American Artstone Company has many colors available to accent other products while offering a dramatic contrast to brick, stone, or other products. We custom cast our products per the specific construction documents allowing the designer to chose practically any profile. It is important to consider that minimizing the number of profiles allows for less mold/form building, offering a more economical unit cost for our products.
